Beam poises are metal plates, just like higher-priced scales. They're designed to be easy to adjust and to stay put after you set them. True magnetic dampening completes the picture to allow fast, stable, and accurate readings. The critical beam pivots are steel-on-steel, not steel-on-aluminum like another company uses. The pivot bearings are cylindrical for the smallest possible contact area -- ensuring better accuracy.
The RC-130 weighs to 130 grains with an accuracy of 0.1 grain. The sturdy base and easy-to-read index bar are molded from tough ABS polymer.
